Driven by a conviction that there are many other stable ancillary ligands besides the cyclopentadienyl groups, and by the crowded patent scene in metallocene catalysis, chemists in industry, academia, and the myriad and fuzzy increments that have grown up between them, are looking for new single-site catalysts that share the advantages of metallocene systems but do not contain the cyclopentadienyl groups. The 16 papers here report on some progress in that effort, looking at catalysts from groups 4-6 and 8-10 metal complexes, and those based on copper complexes.
