Essentials of Nuclear Medicine Imaging

Essentials of Nuclear Medicine Imaging ebook

The previous edition of this work was included in Brandon/Hill. In this introduction to nuclear imaging techniques, the 14 chapters presented by Mettler (radiology and nuclear medicine, U. of New Mexico School of Medicine) and Guiberteau (clinical radiology and nuclear medicine, U. of Texas Medical School at Houston) cover physics, instrumentation, imaging of the major organic systems, quality control, and legal requirements. For this new edition, they have updated the chapters to include newer aspects of instrumentation and radiopharmaceuticals and have removed outdated material. They have also added a chapter on positron emission tomography and now include color images because of this addition. Also added to the text are a little over 60 pages of unknown case set images designed to test the reader's overall knowledge in nuclear imaging. Tables on dosimetry have now been placed in the appendix on examination protocols and techniques. Annotation © 2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
