Recognizing a need in the field to publish articles that clearly illustrate the applications of human factors research on air operation systems, the editors solicited 20 essays from industry specialists. Four of the essays concern methodology, the remainder address direct operation impacts, impacts on human resources functions, and approaches used in running large integrated human factors programs. Individual chapters concern runway safety, human error in European air traffic management, FAA strategies for reducing operational error causal factors, and integrating human factors into company policy and practice. The editors are with Eurocontrol in Bretigny, France and the FAA in the US. Annotation © 2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR More Reviews and Recommendations |
