Seidenstat (economics, Temple U.) et al. compile 19 essays discussing practices and changes in the water and wastewater industries. The studies encompass performance measurement, customer communications, new technology and computer applications, management, financial and planning issues, and case studies of individual companies in Baltimore, Fort Wayne, Austin, Nashville, and Philadelphia. Debt and watershed management, water infrastructure rehabilitation, citizen participation, automatic meter reading programs, merging companies, and reorganization are also explored.
