Written for structural engineers, architects, and those involved in preparing and administering local building codes, this document provides requirements for general structural design and includes means for determining dead, live, soil, flood, wind, snow, rain, atmospheric ice, and earthquake loads, and their combinations. The text is a revision of the ASCE/SEI 7-02 edition from 2002, and contains revised and significantly reorganized seismic provisions. Also included are revisions in the provisions for determining live, flood, wind, snow, and atmospheric ice loads; substantial technical revisions in those chapters are clearly highlighted. The text also contains a commentary section with detailed explanatory and supplementary information to assist users. The document uses both the International System of Units (SI) and customary units.
