Cho's (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) introductory text describes how optical, mechanical, electronic, and computer engineering technologies have been integrated to form a new field, optomechatronic technology, and how this approach can be used to create new and added value and function for the engineering systems under consideration.
