An experienced studio engineer offers beginners clear and simple instructions for recording music at home using a personal computer. Early chapters provide guidance on choosing and installing computer hardware and software and setting up the recording space. The remaining chapters use plain language to describe each step of the process, from getting a great source sound, through using loops, adding effects, and burning a CD master. The volume also features a removable "cheat sheet" that outlines the components of the signal chain from source to output.
