Singh (civil and environmental engineering, Louisiana State U.-Baton Rouge) and Frevert (US Bureau of Reclamation, Denver) have compiled two previous collections of mathematical models for watershed hydrology, in 1995 and 2002. Here they offer a third describing 24 popular models not included in those. Research and practicing engineers, most but not all American, explain models chosen to span a range of characteristics, such as representativeness, comprehensiveness, broad-based applicability, and use of modern tools.
